Nifty started his life as a typical throughbred with race training. He was too slow though so he retired from his short lived race career without injury. He was picked up by a lovely woman who devoted a couple years to retraining and rehabilitating him. Her focus was dressage and she did a fantastic job of getting Nifty into fantastic shape and health.
  Nifty still lacked confidence - he could be unreliable when working with him, and pretty spooky. Lindsey ended up purchasing Nifty back in the fall of 2009. She did a lot of work to build his confidence including introducing Nifty to trail riding and jumping. Lindsey even took him to a three day Level 3 clinic with Don Halladay (Parelli professional) in 2010 where Nifty excelled and learned a lot of new things.
Nifty has been an excellent addition to the LFEquestrian lesson program. He has such slow and smooth walk/trot/canter gaits that make him a really great teacher to new riders. His confidence has grown over the years and Lindsey even took Nifty to the cottage and they went swimming together! Nifty really enjoyed it and gave swim rides to the kids at the cottage.
 Nifty is has been part boarded over the years with Lindsey by various students. His last part boarder, Sabrina, was a great fit. She could call his name and he'd come cantering over to her in the paddock. They built confidence together and jumped 3ft courses together. They took part in the 2011 Everything Equine Trade Show in Uxbridge together and showed the crowd how to overcome fear and jump a scary tarp jump safely. Sabrina was able to have a bridleless lesson and ride Nifty walk, trot, and canter with no bridle or halter at all!
 Nifty has been used in Lindsey's Natural Horsemanship summer camp where he was a favourite by 7 yr old Dakota and 11 yr old Hannah for ground games, riding, and jumping.
