Lindsey offers agent services if you are trying to find a horse, or if you are wanting to sell your horse.
Lindsey provides consultation for buying, leasing, and selling horses. Lindsey assesses the confidence, dominance, and sensitivity level of the horse to help determine suitability.
Services for Buying Horses
Lindsey provides two different types of services for people who are buying horses:
1) Agent Services: You provide Lindsey your search criteria, Lindsey meets with you to assess your abilities, and then Lindsey seeks and finds potential horses for you to try. Lindsey accompanies you to try these horses and helps you from start to finish with asking the seller pertinent questions to reviewing the bill of sale. She also helps you to negotiate price and finalize the sale including a trial (if required) and vet/farrier inspections (if required).
Benefits to this service:
- This is service is perfect for those that have busy schedules and don’t have the time to search all the classifieds, email and phone horse owners, and arrange viewings.
- If you aren’t tech savvy then this service is great because you don’t have to worry about dealing with search engines, etc.
- Lindsey’s vast experience with match making horses to riders is well practiced; many people can tell you about a horse that they probably should not have bought… having a professional help to find a horse that is suitable can make all the difference.
- If you aren’t comfortable with negotiating, or asking lots of questions, this service helps to give you peace of mind that someone else has your best interests in mind.
- If you aren’t sure of all the things to look for in a horse then this service is great to make sure that nothing gets missed.
- If you like to look at a lot of horses, this service can be a more economical way to have Lindsey perform consults on horses.
2) Consultation: Think you have found the right match? Lindsey can provide consultation on a horse by horse basis. Lindsey will visit the horse and perform a full assessment to test the horse’s abilities and suitability based on your criteria and needs.
Benefits to this service:
- This service is great if you have the time and tech savvy to search for possible horses, but still want a second opinion.
- Having a knowledgeable horse professional assess the horse can point out behavioural, characteristics, and potential training points that a vet or farrier will not be assessing.
- Horse by horse consultations can be perfect for someone with a limited budget, but who still wants a professional second opinion.
- Even if you have your own coach or trainer, but you want an outside opinion, this service is very useful.
- Getting an assessment done of your horse can help you to understand the horse, where the weaknesses and strengths are, and if the horse is suited for your needs.
Pricing
Agent Services: 10% of the sale price or a minimum of $150 + the cost of travel to/from the farm . $150 deposit required on this service.
Consultation: $40/consultation + the cost of travel to/from the barn (if further than 30 minutes from Uxbridge)*
*Mileage cost: $0.50/km one way from Uxbridge, On– the first 40 km are free.

Services for Selling and Marketing Horses
Lindsey provides a number of services for people selling and marketing their horses. They include:
1) Consignment: Lindsey will market your horse, answer potential buyers questions, conduct horse viewing, draft the bill of sale, provide training as required, and handle the entire transaction. This service takes the hassle, stress, and worry out of selling your horse. You set the minimum price! Lindsey only accepts horses on consignment that are within 30 minutes of Uxbridge, On. Contact Lindsey for a list of boarding facilities within the area. Lindsey has limited availability for this service.
This service is perfect for clients that:
- Don’t have a lot of time
- Are not familiar with selling horses
- Who are unsure what all the horsey questions mean, such as ‘is your horse a solid build, does he have knee action, does he have brio, what are his gaits like, etc.
- The horse requires some training/tune up, but you don’t want to put down a large investment in training
- You are not comfortable marketing your horse, showing your horse to buyers, negotiating price, working out a bill of sale, etc.
- Don’t have the technology/ know how to make a sale video and capture the pictures buyers want to see of your horse for sale.
2) Consultation: Looking for a second opinion as to how best market and sell your horse? For what price? And who is your horse best suited for? Lindsey provides a consultation service to assess your horse and provide recommendations for listing and direction.
This service is perfect for clients that:
- Are unfamiliar with the market of horses and are looking for some guidance
- Would like a second opinion for determining price and marketing strategy
- Are undecided about enrolling in the consignment service or horse training and would like to see how Lindsey works with their horse
3) Videography and Photography: Need some images and video to market your horse? Lindsey Forkun Equestrian provides video and photography sessions with a high resolution camera to capture the best of your horse. Unlimited proofs and video.
This service is perfect for clients that:
- Have the tech savvy to advertise their horse, but don’t have the means to capture quality footage and images, or know how to create a sales video
- Are comfortable with all other aspects of selling the horse including setting the price, answering potential buyer’s questions, showing the horse for sale, etc.
4) Online Advertising: Lindsey can list your horse for sale on this website for a one time fee of $15. The ad remains until the horse finds a suitable home and you can make changes to your ad as many times as required.
This service is perfect for clients that:
- Have the material and information they need to sell their horse, but are looking for more opportunities of networking.
- Are comfortable with all other aspects of selling the horse including setting the price, answering potential buyer’s questions, showing the horse for sale, etc.
Pricing
Consignment: 15% of the sale price, or a minimum of $300. $300 is required as a deposit.
Consultation: $40/consultation + the cost of travel to/from the barn*
Videography and Photography: $40/hr + the cost of travel to/from the barn (if further than 30 minutes from Uxbridge)* Includes unlimited images and up to 20 minutes of video.
Online Advertising: $15 one time fee
*Mileage cost: The first 40 km from Uxbridge are free, and then $0.50/km one way (if the facility is 50 km from Uxbridge, then the extra mileage cost would be $5). Please contact Lindsey for an exact quote.
