About Lindsey

Lindsey began riding at Tanglewood Farms, back in 1992. There she learned to ride English and jumping.

In 1993, after Tanglewood Farms closed down, Lindsey began riding at Foxfire Equestrian Centre. There she continued to ride English, hunter, and learned some western. Lindsey purchased her first horse in 1998. Lindsey continued to show in western, English, hunter, showmanship, halter, and trail on her Quarter Horse, Generals Mission for 4 years. Lindsey continued to ride with Foxfire up until they sold their farm.

In 1999 Lindsey moved to Whispering Pines, until finding Belleview Farms in 2000. Belleview Farms is where she picked up dressage. Lindsey enrolled in Pony Club, which allowed her to go to many clinics with various different coaches. She achieved levels D, D1, and D2 in the one year that she was with Pony Club. She competed in starter show jumping for her first season (in show jumping) and was champion at almost every qualifier, and was champion at the central championships, and 1st overall for central Ontario. She was invited to the Central Canadian Show Jumping Championships to compete for the Central Ontario team, were her team finished 3rd.

In late 2000, Lindsey moved to The Meadows Equestrian Centre. This was the year that she took part in the movie "Prancer Returns" riding her horse Generals Mission in the parade scene. After the farm changed hands Lindsey moved to a private farm called Rolling Hills, joined with JDF Stables. Lindsey competed in the CNE 2002, and was 11th in children's hunter with her mare Mission Accomplished who had never showed at a recognized show before, and the horse had only been jumping for a couple months. She also competed with the Durham Club and brought home 11 trophies, and 3 ribbons from several different classes and divisions including the Charlie's Pride Memorial Award for Versatility. Over the summer of 2003, Lindsey and her students went to many shows, doing extremely well. Lindsey kept her horses at Triple Ridge Farm over the summer on outdoor board. After the barn closed, Lindsey moved one horse to Amberbrook Farms, and one to Thousand Hills Farms.

In the season of 2003, Lindsey competed in child/adult jumpers and was 4th overall on the Trillium circuit, and was invited to the championships to represent central Ontario. Lindsey unfortunately could not attend. Lindsey also was invited to the Tournament of Champions for the hack division in 2003. Over the season she had many accomplishments including winning the 3'6" open jumper derby, winning her some prize money.

2004 was a great season where every student who tried for Trillium year end awards ended up finishing in the top ten and achieving awards. An excellent season with few champion and reserve champion ribbons from the Trillium shows. Lindsey showed the horse 'Boys Knight Out' at Trillium at Palgrave Phase II in August for the horse's first Trillium show, she won the stake class and was reserve champion in the division. Lindsey sold both her horses (Mission of Mine, and My Mission is Clear) and started university at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. She is taking nursing in collaboration with her BScN. The University of Ontario is located in Oshawa, therefore allowing Lindsey to come home on weekends to coach and train.

2005 was another successful year for Lindsey. The team showed at Durham Saddle Club where all students were in the top two for at least one of their classes. She also showed a green horse for his first full season- Top Secret Mission- who was reserve champion overall in the senior division. Lindsey trained and coached in Lindsey, Queensville, Uxbridge, and Newmarket this season. During the year for university she commuted from home so that she was available more throughout the week for lessons and training. Lindsey also started Parelli Natural Horsemanship and began work on her Level 1.

2006 finished up to be a successful season with a variety of students doing different circuits including Chelsea Geer competing in show jumping for her first season and getting reserve champion, and Alexandra competing in hunters and winning first in every class and champion of her division! Lindsey continues to work with Parelli Natural Horsemanship and incorporates this training with all the horses she works with. Lindsey also started working for Cold Creek Farm in Claremont. Lindsey also became certified as a coach of Ontario in the sport of Equestrian.

2007– Lindsey was hired to work for Pleasure Valley to teach and train natural horsemanship. She is trained their youngsters and taught lessons. Lindsey also worked with her two TB mares, Ely and Canterbury who she purchased in January. Canterbury has been leased to one of Lindsey’s students for the 2008 show season and Ely has been sold to another student of Lindsey’s. Lindsey also obtained her Parelli Natural Horsemanship Level 1.

2008– Lindsey is finishing up her 4th year of university and is planning a wedding in May! She still is doing some coaching and is headed back to the Trillium circuit with her different horses. Currently she owns Canterbury who is showing modified childrens at Trillium with her student Chelsea (they are off to a great start!) and Elegance who started showing hunters this year. Lindsey also obtained her Equine Canada Rider Level 8.
