Alexandra
Trail Guide, Coach, and staff of Lindsey Forkun Equestrian Staff member since 2009

Alexandra was one of Lindsey's first students since 2002 and has continued in lessons ever since. Alexandra first contacted Lindsey to help with her pony, Cody. Cody used to be excitable and unpredictable. He would take off and have big spooks. Lindsey showed Alexandra how to have a confident partnership which has led them to many show jumping championships over the past few years and hunter championships as well.

Alexandra works for Pleasure Valley (
www.pleasurevalley.ca) to provide trail rides, and she assists Lindsey with training horses as well as care of the horses.

Laura began riding at the age of 12, in 2005 at Sandford Stables, she rode there for two and a half years. During this time she trained and Competed western, dressage and Hunter on the flat. Receiving lots of 1sts, 2nds and even a show champion in the hunters and competing at First level dressage with a score of 52.59%. Here she was fortunate enough to work with the schools project horses, even towards the end with a newly broke very green quarter horse clydesdale cros 4yr old mare.
Eventually she felt it was time to move on to somewhere else to advance her training. Some stables she had the privilage of riding at were, Dunraven Farm, Martingale Farm, Granitewood Farm, and most importantly Country Hill Farm. At CHF she learnt and honed her most advanced skills, schooling up to 3rd level dressage and 2'9"-3" fences.

She was able to work with a wide variety of horses there and to compete at training level dressage receiving firsts in both classes with scores of 55.56 % and 57.143%. She also had the opportunity to work with Jessica Phoenix and Meredith Risk as Clinicians in both jumping and Dressage. After 4 years of riding and at the age of 16 she was excited to own her first horse as of August 5th 2009. Gallop

Pole, Barn Name "Pole" and Show Name "Polaris", was a 6yr old 16.2hh OTTB gelding with only 8 months off the track, Originally bred in the states and former $130,000 track winner(both in canada and the states) Out of Victory Gallop(top ontario stallion) and Betamillion Bach.

"With 2 irregular socks and a huge blaze paired with his aubern chestnut coact, he was perfect. I worked with a couple or coaches and was a two different barns before We finally got somewhere. Working with Lindsay and using Natural Horsemanship has boosted our original relationship and really helped provide both me and Pole with great opportunities for sucess" says Laura.

Because of her experience with many different barns and farm settings, Laura is able to appreciatte the conditions in which horses live, and has seen some adverse conditions that horses experience. She decided to pursue massage therapy to help horses. A non invasive, healthy way to improve and stimulate the horse's natural senses, soft tissues and body conditon. Laura says "massage can give a horse just that little bit of an edge when it comes to performance, or make a pleasure horse even happier to be your life long buddy." In October of 2010 she became a Certified Massage Therapist through Equinamity/Equine Rehab Program run by Sidonia McIntyre. LFEquestrian is proud to promote Laura's equine wellness services - Laur Tech Equestrian Services.
